Josua Dillier
I am a certified sound engineer and producer based in Bern, where my studio is located. Whether it is a CD or video production, a live recording or film music: I am happy to bring your projects to life!
After my Bachelor of Music with a focus on sound engineering, I received my Master's degree in sound engineering in fall 2024 from the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste ZHdK.
During my studies at ZHdK, I had the privilege of receiving sound engineering lessons from Andreas Werner, Michaela Wiesbeck and Andreas Brüll. I enjoyed Instrumental lessons in bassoon with Michael von Schönermark and in jazz piano with Stefan Aeby . I continue to perform as a bassoonist in various chamber music ensembles and project orchestras. To further my musical and pedagogical development, I began my second Master's degree in Music Education on the bassoon at the Hochschule der Künste Bern in fall 2024 at HKB with Valeria Curti and Marc Kilchenmann.
In addition to various productions I did in the fields of classical, jazz, and film music, I had the pleasure to contribute to many exciting projects with: Polyhymnia International (Assistant for CD productions by the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich), Daniel Dettwiler (Recording of classical, jazz, and film music), Niki Reiser (Recording of film music), Michael Künstle and Matteo Pagamici (Recording of film music) and the Opernhaus Zürich (Sound assistant).
It is especially important to me, that the musicians feel comfortable during a recording session and can perform at their best! This is why I focused my Master's thesis on the research of this topic.
Since my Bachelor's project, 3D audio has also become one of my specialties. The scientific findings of this project were published as a paper at the AES (Audio Engeneering Society) and are here available. Currently, I am working on setting up a new post production studio (in Dolby Atmos) together with my colleague Samuel Müller .
My collaboration with Josua Dillier was highly enjoyable, and I can recommend him without hesitation. He works with utmost professionalism, reliability, and always considers every aspect thoughtfully. In addition to creating outstanding live audio recordings, he also excels in video editing and approaches every project with a love for detail. A 100% recommendation!

I had the pleasure of working with Josua Dillier on an intricate orchestra score. I was deeply impressed by his exceptional musicality and his technical expertise. Despite the extremely tight schedule for the recordings and editing, I could always rely on his swift implementation of the musical material. Additionally, I knew that Josua Dillier, as a thoughtful and proactive sound engineer, would consistently bring out the best in my music.
